There are many things in which people do not know about dogs and curious to understand since they are different according to the way they operate and work around people. During the world war II when the pearl harbor was attacked, the army started to encourage the people who were leaving within the area to donate their dogs to them so they can train them and make them part of their team. The first group which was referred to as the K-9 corps took about 12 weeks to be trained.
Therefore, they were named K-9 corps which was able to make sure they handled their tasks as required and able to achieve their targets accordingly. They could make responses to their counterparts and deliver a message from another person. They also understood the routes within the camp hence able to guard it within the boundaries.
Others were trains to become sniff dogs for booby traps during the war therefore making them useful in knowing the places in which the enemy has set them accordingly. However they helped in winning the fight and ending it for good. The training was massive and become a success afterwards. Till today, the task is still set and professionals are employed to carry out the training for police dogs.
In these different groups which were divided, some of the dogs were trained to become camp guards with the help of few soldiers who were assigned for the duty. Therefore they were able to make sure they are all set for the guard during the day and also during the night. If they smelled something or discover there was something or someone approaching the camp, they could let their counterparts know and hence ready for defense.
Some of these pets were trained to become very sensitive so they could be abler to smell a booby trap from the field where the soldiers were to pass and alert them on the different location where they are set. Therefore they became very helpful and today, they are trained in large numbers making it possible for the police to have some of them in order to be able to catch the criminals easily.
