When you are planning to buy a cell phone, for sure, you will be having problems most especially in the selection of network that you would like to have. Your choices may be WiMax, LTE, GSM, or CDMA. Because of this, knowing these networks differences is important.

The most simple explanation for this is the G in a 4G means generation since it is the fourth generation for the technology in mobile data. While the LTE means Long term Evolution and this is an improved type of wireless broad bands. So this article will be giving you the ideas on the differences of GSM 3G 4G LTE antennas.

First, Global System for Mobile Communications or GSM. GSM is a cellular network where the phones will be connected by searching some cells that are just located in the same area. In this network, the cells are of five different sizes, these are the pico, macro, femto, micro, and umbrella. These cells coverage area depends on its implementation.

The micro cells are usually utilized in urban areas and the height of antenna is under the average level of rooftops. The femto cells are utilized in small businesses or residential environments and it is connected to a service provider via broadband connection. The macro cells antenna is often usually installed in buildings above the average level of rooftops.

A pico type is smaller and the diameter of coverage area is a few dozens only in terms of meters. It is often being installed indoors. An umbrella type is often utilized to cover the shadowed regions of a smaller cell and to fill up the coverage of a smaller cell.

Second is the 3G or third generation. It is a third generation in a mobile telecommunications technology. Its basis are the given standards which are also used for most common devices. Telecommunications are making use of the networks and also services that are complying specifications given by International Telecommunication Union. 3G type is often being applied in video calls, fixed wireless internet access, phones internet access, wireless voice telephony, and TV phones.

The International Telecommunication Union or the ITU was not able to give a clarification on the definition of data rates in which the users expect when using this equipment or provider. And because of this, those users who are going to sold the service cannot point out some standards, and thus, the specifications on the rates were not met. Data rates include required average rate, minimum required rate, and modes of interfaces that qualifies as 3G.

Third is fourth generation or 4G, succeeding the 3G network. Some uses of this include mobile web access, IP telephony, gaming services, HD TV phone, video conferencing, and 3D television. This refers to networks of IP packet switched type that provides a gigabit speed or ultra broadband access to mobiles.

Fourth is LTE or Long Term Evolution. It is the standard used for the high speed wireless communications in data terminals and mobile phones. The speed and capacity have increased because of different radios interfaces being used together. It was marketed before as a 4G LTE but it was not able to meet the criteria of the 4G wireless network an LTE advanced.
